Preparing for Thanksgiving

Every year we get ready for Thanksgiving.  Not any Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving in Mexico.  We are getting ready to go to Mexicali to see 40 boys at the orphanage Cahova.  We go with about 25 friends from church.  We start emailing each other with ideas and thoughts for our trip.  We will soon make the 14 hour trip to San Diego by bus, then head over the boarder for some great fun with the boys.  Here's a picture of our summer trip.

The orphanage provides us with dinner one night and in return we cook for them.  We bring crafts and games for the boys to enjoy.  We just love spending time with them.  We are looking forward to another awesome trip and are very THANKFUL for the boys of Cahova!

Side Table

Gina and I have been working hard on this side table.  We didn't take any before pictures....big mistake.  It was a pine table that was a bit out dated. We sanded the table to get off all the old stain.  We then used one coat of primer.  After that completely dried, we  painted it a cream color.  We used two coats of that.  Then for the fun part, shopping for the knob!  We just love the one we picked out....take a look.

Our Inspiration

Gina and I have been trying to come up with a name for our blog.  We decided on Peli's Palace because of a little friend of Gina's that she has come to love.  Here he is below:

Peli's Palace will consists of lots of projects,cooking, and great adventures Peli does with our Family.  Gina and I are having fun keeping busy now that Alicia is off to college.  More to come.....Come back and check out our end table that we are painting.
